Goal

Because I desire to develop my skills as a biblical Hebrew instructor…

• I will teach a beginner biblical Hebrew class at my congregation based on current language acquisition theory.

Strategies

• I will take students through a Hebrew phonetic warm-up to help them learn the vowels and consonants of Hebrew and begin to read the language.

• I will lead them through Hebrew language lessons designed to teach them the beginning morphology of biblical Hebrew.

Resources

• I will use “Culture/Language Acquisition Manual NTM”

• I will use the following Hebrew grammars: Ross, Pratico and Van Pelt, Garrett and DeRouchie, Simon, Motzkin and Resnikoff, and Rocine

• Learning styles discussions with Dr. Chisholm

Measures

• After developing my biblical Hebrew phonetic warm-up and language lessons, I will start classes at the beginning of January of 2023.

• By the end of April of 2023, I will have completed the test course with my students on how to teach academic Hebrew through language acquisition theory.
